What's for dinner?
Yum yum burritos. Shrimp, corn and avocado in whole wheat tortillas.
Super easy and super tasty
[Ingredients]
shell on frozen shrimp 1 lb
12 oz bag frozen corn
avocado, sliced
a lime
fresh cilantro, chopped
cheddar cheese, grated
sour cream (I used light)
pico de gallo or jar salsa
Package of large burrito size whole wheat flour tortillas
Steam shrimp in small amount of water with 1/2 juice of the lime
Steam frozen corn
Lightly brown tortilla but still keep it soft enough to roll
flip tortilla to other side and add cheese to melt
Remove tortilla from pan and fill with shrimp cut in big pieces, corn, avocado, cilantro, salsa, sour cream. Sprinkle with lime juice.
I like to cut in half so that the burrito can be picked up

winter up date
It is and has been bitter cold-single digits. I do get warmed up with all the wood splitting and hauling and carrying it in for the wood stove which I am about 10" away from.
Please come out and play with me...

Zora's blanket
I have been working like the craziest of Santa's elves making a blanket for Zora's Christmas present. Whether I finish it in time is yet to be seen. Here are some pics of the process:
I made 42 daisy flowers with 12 different colors of cotton yarn. The cotton made such a sweet soft blanket. pattern here
A basket full of posies!
I joined the flowers together with this video 5 Ways to Attach Granny Squares
I decided to go with a simple whip stitch with a darning needle to sew them together rather than crocheting them together. I liked that it didn't leave a ridge and was lots faster. By this point my hands were very achy from so much constant crocheting, trying to get this done for my granddaughter's Christmas present.
Today and Monday before I fly to Philadelphia and I think I am going to make it if I don't keep making mistakes. Last night I was sewing away (after wasting an hour looking for the needle) and realized I had sew squares together in such a mistaken wat that it looked like an origami creature. Getting close!

Making Christmas ornaments
Making Christmas salt dough ornaments to be covered with food color paints, massive amounts of glue and glitter and the final sparkle---Sequins!
I will have to get some photos of the final ornaments. We had such a great time.
Some new Christmas Goodies at Vintage Lindy Lou's Shop
I have been so busy getting things photographed, research and written up for the shop. Definitely feel like Santa's main helper elf.
All these and lots more at my Etsy shop just waiting to come to your house for Christmas.

Halloween
These are some of my Halloween displays. Hard to photograph to be able to see things.
I found this fun idea on Pinterest and Zora and I made it. We definitely made a mess but great fun. She had a blast. She's three. We made ours pink with lots of glitter and eyeballs. I had found just a perfect size little black cauldron at the dollar store to put it in.
If you look closely at the little handmade halloween hutch you will see a crystal ball, eyeballs, spiders, and vintage looking pumpkins.
