I don't know why I planted so many tomatoes in the garden. I really don't want to can them and I have no room in my tiny freezer. I feel like I'm in a tomato nightmare. 

 I am going to get thinking of ways to use the tomatoes-like salsa, tomato soup, maybe trying to dry them......

Make It-Bake It

 I've been making a lot  of washcloths lately. Mostly crochet but one knitted. I am thinking of attaching them together to make a throw blanket. Love the soft cotton yarn and the colors. 

I copied the style of a 1950's clothespin holder that had been my mother's and  used upcycled fabric from an old skirt and trim from rummage sales. I used the hanger from the original clothespin bag but a new one could easily be made.

Color and textures vignette on my porch table.

At a sale I found a cookbook like one that my mother always had. I thought it was quite a wonderful find since I have none of my mother's cookbooks and only a couple recipes. Even though it's so old it is in great shape. It has a spiral binder even.

Really hot here

My Huskies are really feeling the hot weather. They have two fans going which they love to lay in front of. They also have a swimming pool which they wil not go in but think of as their giant water bowl! Olivia and Daisy...

I made them some frozen "pup-scicles" which they loved.
I used silicone cupcake cups but anything will do that will hold the mixture -like empty yogurt cups. I had these ingredients on hand so this is what I used but lots of substitutions can be made or fruits added, like blueberries, bananas ec. I was thinking of trying canned pumpkin and canned salmon next!

Ingredients:

One container of fruited yogurt mixed with a small amount of water

Milk bone - for center stick

Small spoons of peanut butter

You can add stuff like blueberries and peanuts too

spoon in a layer of yogurt, add milk bone treat standing in center

add small dollops of peanut butter

More yogurt to fill up

Put in freezer. 

If using silicone cups.

You will need to place them in a container 

so they to hold their shape in the freezer.

It finally got warm?

I have discovered some people who paint furniture and  the color is the layers it’s the flower One person that I love the most is Debbie Beard She uses and sells this paint called DIY paint - a natural clay paint. The best thing is it’s incredibly bright beautiful colors each one I adore AND you don’t have to prime or prepare any surface just paint it right on. Any surface- wood metal and much more. Broccoli Soup

Making Vegetable Broth used for Broccoli Cheese Soup

Sauteed onion, carrot, celery,garlic in butter and olive oil.

Added parsley salt and pepper.

Simmered broccoli till soft.

Made a small amount of roux in a separate pan to thicken the milk. Added cheddar and Parmesan cheeses 

Well ah done!
